There are 5 positions on the executive board the will be expiring at the end of the year. The positions up for election are president, 2nd vice-president, 2-trustee positions and sergeant-at-arms.We are accepting nominations for those spots through October and voting at our November meeting. If you or someone you know would like to serve, we would encourage you to submit that persons name by phone or email to the secretary/treasurer no later than October 25th. Ballots will be available in the November Watch Tab or online under the "ONLINE VOTING" tab beginning on October 30th.
October is Fire Prevention Month. Here are a few tips as this years' focus is on SAFE CHARGING.
- Lithium-Ion Batteries: The campaign focuses on reducing fires caused by improperly charged or damaged lithium-ion batteries found in phones, laptops, e-bikes, scooters, and power tools.
- Dates: October 4–10, 2026.
Safe Charging Rules- Use Approved Chargers: Always use the manufacturer-approved charger and cord that came with your device.
- Hard Surfaces: Charge devices on hard, flat, nonflammable surfaces—never on beds, couches, or under pillows.
- Avoid Overcharging: Unplug devices and batteries once they are fully charged.
- Watch for Warning Signs: Discontinue use immediately if a battery is hot, swelling, smoking, or emitting an odd odor.
- Outdoor Charging: Charge large e-mobility devices (like e-bikes and scooters) outdoors if possible.

Members of that wellness committee were present at our September lunch to present the results of the survey.
